Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. As the character Essie in You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of an Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platform. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who brought us Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first big character. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was raised in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
